College Football Bettors Recap – Saturday Week 1 – 9/5/2015
Northwestern vs Stanford – One of our place on Saturday where we went-4-1
Northwestern versus Amford really impressed early and late with Northwestern’s defense obviously they only gave up six total points. Clay Thorson, northwestern’s quarterback was extremely impressive. I thought he had a strong arm and he ran a very strong option play he can also run he had that 35 yard touchdown run and showed a lot of speed for his size.
My real question at the half was good Northwestern withstand this for four quarters against Stanford team that’s usually known for closing strong I was very confident though and I mentioned this in my archives analysis that Stanford had issues closing late games last year.
It was just too much to ask for Stanford Northwestern’s offense of line is getting a push on the defensive lineman I mean Stanford had nine new starter is out there at the end it was 200+ yards rushing for Northwestern and Stanfords offense was nonexistent I will say this Kevin Hogan really struggles on The road he had a lot of bad throws but in his defense he also had a couple key drops in the game you may be able to get value would Stanford down the road because I don’t think they were this bad this was an early start Northwestern is very much improved team but anytime you lose as a double-digit favorite it hurts. . .
Auburn vs. Louisville – No action for me –
Next game is auburn first Louisville this game to me I didn’t get to watch a lot with the audio but I did watch the entire game I was too busy watching Penn State and temp on me breakdown that game later but Auburn we won by seven they didn’t cover the spread it seem like take pre-much control the game throughout but Louisville Mito weight challenge in the game
Louisville did have two or 40 rushing yards and 27 first downs you were eat for 16 on third down and that was really impressive because I will must champ’s defense is supposed to not allow something like that and coming into the game Louisville’s offense was a big? But once they got going it seem like they were able to move the ball against Auburn and I’m not so sure if this game continued bit Louisville wouldn’t have eaten them
For Auburn Jeremy Johnson did not look good at all I kind I want my hundred dollar ticket back for him to win the Heisman which I got at 25 to 1 I mean he had three turnovers and told them were really bad some can be cleaned up I just think it was poor decision-making and auburns offense just did not look as old as they have in the past they did go up against a very good defense so we should see later in the week’s but right now I’m selling Auburn and I’m buying in on Louisville in the future if we can find value
Penn State @ Temple – Teaser of the week – LOSS
Next game we are going to recap was one that was very disappointing for me I did have a lean towards temple I knew us is going to be a game and I wrote that in my analysis and my teaser of the week. Obviously if you follow us you know that we actually did a teaser on Penn State in the under. I just really thought the line moved to munch on both of those Numbers in there was just too much value in teasing this game the total which opened up at 39 moved to 44 and the line open up that -14 and moved to six in favor of Penn State now I do Penn State’s offense of line was going to have some issues but I thought their defense was stronger and I thought they could overcome all of that in the end.
As you know that was not the case and skates offense of line is worse than I thought and Penn State unfortunately had a couple of key injuries to their linebackers which really impacted their ability to stop temple temple which had 15 first downs to Penn State’s nine they really control this game throughout with 36 minutes of time possession and it was really disappointing recommendation from me.
Two things can happen here and will see in the lines Temple will either be no favorites in a lot of their games or Penn State will be even bigger underdogs I don’t think you can sleep on Penn State still think they have a great defense their offense of line will get better but am I gonna run to the window to pet them probably not for a while.
Other key games –
Here’s some other key games that I’d like to quickly recap I did not handicapped them and I have not got a chance to watch them yet I do plan on getting through my DVR in watching these games just to learn a little bit more about what they look like because there’s a lot of interesting things going on here. UCLA Virginia game extremely interested to see how their quarterback did. Arizona State and Texas A&M I didn’t get to see a lot of this game but that’s price Texas A&M one I thought it was a little odd that Arizona State was right number 15th and Texas A&M was favored although it was like a home game for them playing in Texas my formulas actually liked Arizona State and I like Texas A&M so I did not play it it’s so obvious that the pack 12 is a bit behind the SEC
BYU versus Nebraska this is a tough game BYU lost Tason hello again which is unfortunate but they didn’t win on a Hail Mary which was very exciting to say the least and heartbreaking for Nebraska.
Notre Dame vs. Texas another game I lean towards Texas so did my formulas but in researching it I could not find a reason why Texas would be it in this game at all I didn’t know too much about Notre Dame I know a lot of folks are higher Notre Dame in terms of people that I really respect your opinions so it’s a no play for me and damn I’m glad I didn’t play it but I will say this I think you will find a lot of value on Texas coming out because they look so bad.
Alabama Wisconsin I don’t think anybody was really surprised by this game I think the wine was you know pretty low because nobody knew who is going to start for Alabama and both quarterbacks Action and played well Wisconsin’s definitely not the same team with another new coach they don’t have the same weapons offense of line is not as good in the running back through is not as talented so I think Wisconsin’s lucky in terms of what division they are in the Big Ten so they can still compete
Mississippi State versus Southern – Saturday’s Top Play
This was my play the day on Saturday night and I really felt like Southern Miss was one of those teams that were due to improve this is a team that won four games the last three seasons but before had 19th St. winning seasons I really felt they would be amp for this game playing in state team out of a power conference and I was certainly right although they lost they covered the spread and that’s really all we cared about they had so many opportunities to really give Mississippi State a scare but they still are showing that they have a lot of room for improvement before they’re ready to compete in their conference again
