SBC Sports Betting News – NFL Injury Situations Create Intri

The National Football League is a sporting realm in which the infirmary report is always a point of foremost concern and importance. How will week one matchups be affected by injuries?

Pittsburgh Safety To Miss Sunday Night Football Premiere Due To Health Precautions

gurus know that in last season's AFC wild card game between the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Denver Broncos, Pittsburgh safety Ryan Clark was kept out of the lineup by coach Mike Tomlin because of a sickle-cell condition that left him susceptible to severe and possibly life-threatening health effects in the event that he played. The high altitude of Denver left Clark vulnerable to adverse reactions if he had taken the field and engaged in vigorous physical exertions. With this bit of history in mind, it was no surprise that Tomlin has announced the same basic decision once again. Clark will not play in this Sunday's prime-time opener against the Broncos, making Pittsburgh's defense that much more vulnerable in the face of new Denver quarterback Peyton Manning. The betting calculus has to be reassessed, at least to some degree, in light of this bit of news. Pittsburgh can't afford too many more injuries in light of all the bangs and bruises the roster has absorbed during the just-concluded preseason swing.

Vikings' Peterson Intends To Play In Season Opener, But Coach Is Being Quite Guarded

There isn't a lot of high-profile sports news that would affect in the NFL, but make no mistake about it: Adrian Peterson of the Minnesota Vikings is a workhorse of the highest order. Peterson is a relentless running back and a force of nature on the field. Yet, a torn ACL injured him last season and put his availability at risk for this year's opener against the Jacksonville Jaguars. Peterson is intent on playing and has said so in public, but Minnesota coach Leslie Frazier released a statement earlier this week in which he said that he would not decide on Peterson's status until gameday on Sunday. Frazier added that if Peterson does play against Jacksonville, he will not get a maximum of touches and will be eased into the flow of play. This statement by Frazier should lower the odds for Minnesota and increase the chances that the Jaguars can go into the Metrodome and pull out a season-opening win. The game probably rates as a toss-up at this point.

Cardinals Sorely Hope That Seahawks' Lynch Won't Be Able To Make Opener

analysts are monitoring the situation in Seattle concerning the Seahawks' meal-ticket running back. At and other betting outlets, the word is getting around that Seattle's productive backfield battering ram, Marshawn Lynch, is having back spasms that are leaving his availability in question for Sunday's season opener at Arizona against the Cardinals. The NFC West clash is important because it is likely to produce the lead contender for the San Francisco 49ers in the division. Seattle needs Lynch in the lineup; if he's not there, the Cardinals would gain the edge.
