Sports Betting – A Look At Saturday’s Slate

Postby Freddy Wills » Fri Oct 14, 2011 3:53 pm

fans will likely be interested in Saturday’s critical contest in the ALCS, while there is a full day of college football on the menu in your sportsbook. The NHL and NASCAR also jockeys for your attention on a busy Saturday.

MLB Betting

Tigers Rangers Odds (8:05 PM ET): Texas gets the chance to put away Detroit at home, and they’ll give the ball to Derek Holland, while the Tigers counter with Max Scherzer as a +134 underdog. The Rangers come in as -144 favorites, but BetOnline reviews will tell you to watch out for Detroit in Game 6 of the ALCS.

College Football Betting

Michigan Michigan State Odds (12:00 PM ET): The No.23 Spartans are 2.5-point favorites at home against the No.11 Wolverines in this massive Big Ten showdown between state rivals, and Michigan State will be out to hand Michigan their first loss of the season.

Baylor Texas A&M Odds (12:00 PM ET): The No.21 Aggies are favored by 8.5 points at home against the No.20 Bears in this Big 12 contest, and with both offenses ranked in the top 10 in total offense, fans should expect a lot of points.

Oklahoma State Texas Odds (3:30 PM ET): In another Big 12 matchup, the No.6 Cowboys are 7-point favorites over the No.22 Longhorns in Austin, where Oklahoma State has won just once in eight tries; that was last season.

Arizona State Oregon Odds (10:15 PM ET): Finally in the Pac-12, the No.9 Ducks are 14.5-point favorites in Eugene, where they’ve won 19 in a row. The No.18 Sun Devils don’t have to deal with Oregon star LaMichael James, who is out with a dislocated elbow.

NHL Betting

Kings Flyers Odds (7:00 PM ET): players will likely see the Flyers favored at home as they welcome former captain Mike Richards back to town after he was traded to Los Angeles in the summer.

Bruins Blackhawks Odds (8:30 PM ET): In this meeting of the last two Stanley Cup champions, the Blackhawks should be favored at the United Center against the Bruins, who have dropped three of four to start the season, all by one goal.

NASCAR Betting

Charlotte Odds (7:30 PM ET): The Chase hits the halfway mark at Charlotte Motor Speedway for the Bank of America 500, and it should be no surprise that five-time champion Jimmie Johnson is the favorite at a track where he has won six times, and he is coming off a pair of dominating performances at Dover and Kansas, where he picked up his second win of the season. However, he’ll have to hold off the usual suspects (Carl Edwards, Kyle and Kurt Busch, pole-winner Tony Stewart), so this will be a tough pick in your book.
