News: Tebow Delivers Against Reigning AFC Champions

After struggling in three straight losses to close out the season, it appeared as though the magic had faded away for Denver Broncos’ quarterback Tim Tebow. However, that changed in a hurry as the Broncos welcomed the defending AFC Champion Pittsburgh Steelers to the Sports Authority Field at Mile High for their AFC Wild Card game on Sunday, as Tebow threw for a score and ran for another as Denver secured a 20-6 lead before the end of the first half. The Steelers battled back by outscoring the Broncos 17-3 in the second half to send the game to overtime, but on the first play of the extra frame, Tebow delivered again. The 24-year old hit wide receiver Demaryius Thomas on an 80-yard catch-and-run to clinch the 29-23 playoff victory, finishing the day with 316 yards passing and two touchdowns. Tebow and the Broncos clinched their spot in the AFC Divisional round against the New England Patriots, setting up a rematch for Tebow against the team that handed him his first loss of this season. Meanwhile, Eli Manning and the New York Giants booked their spot in the NFC Divisional round against the Green Bay Packers with a 24-2 win over the Atlanta Falcons, their third win in four weeks dating back to the regular season.

Betting News: Red Wings Come Back To Beat Blackhawks

A battle of two of the top teams in the Western conference didn’t disappoint on Sunday as the Detroit Red Wings came back from down a goal in the third period to beat the Chicago Blackhawks 3-2 in overtime. Backup netminder Ty Conklin made 29 saves, and Pavel Datsyuk scored the game-winner as the Red Wings moved within two points of the Vancouver Canucks for the top spot in the Western conference. At the other end of the spectrum, the Anaheim Ducks exploded offensively with a 7-4 win over the Columbus Blue Jackets in a battle of the two worst teams in the Western conference while out east the Philadelphia Flyers were victims of a collapse of their own Sunday in a 6-4 loss to the Ottawa Senators.

Golf News: Stricker Continues To Pace Field At Tournament Of Champions

After watching his five-stroke lead fade to just a single shot, Steve Stricker rallied back with four straight birdies to restore his cushion heading in to the final day of the Tournament of Champions in Hawaii. Stricker got some help from his friends along the way as both Webb Simpson and Jonathan Byrd missed shots that would have given them a share of the lead, and will now turn his attention to clinching the top spot on Monday.

NCAAB News: Wolverines Have No Problem With Badgers

In what was anticipated to be a tough showdown between two of the top-20 teams in the nation, the No. 13 Michigan Wolverines cruised to victory on Sunday afternoon, running away with a 59-41 victory over the No. 19 Wisconsin Badgers in front of a sold-out crowd at the Crisler Center in Ann Arbor. Tim Hardaway Jr. scored 17, and added 10 rebounds to lead the Wolverines to their third win in four games against Big Ten competition, while the No. 12 Indiana Hoosiers ended their Big Ten road skid with an 88-82 win over Penn State in the only other game on Sunday that featured a nationally-ranked team.
