NHL News: Penguins Fall To Down Three Games To Flyers

Hockey fans across the nation were wondering how the Stanley Cup favorite Pittsburgh Penguins would come out and respond after dropping the first two games of their seven-game series to the Philadelphia Flyers on home ice. The response was even more shocking than the first two results, as the Penguins took their biggest loss of the series 8-4, putting them in a three-games-to-none hole with the chance to be swept this Wednesday in Philadelphia. It has been a shocking turn of events for the consensus Stanley Cup favorites, who have questions to answer with the NHL leading scorer limited to just two points in the series, and their starting goalie pulled after two periods of game three. The intensity in the series reached a boiling point with Sidney Crosby dropping the gloves with Claude Giroux as one of several fights in the game, and with 159 penalty minutes and 12 combined goals both teams deserve the two-day break ahead of game four on Wednesday. The Penguins aren’t the only team in a three-games-to-none hole as the defending Western conference champions now face a similar situation after a 1-0 loss to the Los Angeles Kings Sunday night. Vancouver will face an elimination game Wednesday night in Los Angeles.

MLB News: Red Sox Manager Bobby Valentine Apologizes To Youkillis

The Boston Red Sox have been through a whirlwind of drama since last season’s late collapse, and it certainly didn’t make things better when manager Bobby Valentine called out his third basemen Kevin Youkillis for his physical and emotional commitment to the team. Valentine apologized for his comments on Monday morning, saying that he “totally apologized” to Youkillis when he was approached by him on Monday morning. The Red Sox have won three-straight and had climbed back to just below the .500 mark heading in to Monday’s game against the Tampa Bay Rays, after which they will host the defending American League champion Texas Rangers for a three-game set.

NBA News: Bynum Helps Lakers To Win Over Dallas Without Kobe

Andrew Bynum continues to make a case for himself as one of the best centers in the association, scoring 23 points and grabbing 16 rebounds in the Los Angeles Lakers’ 112-108 overtime win against the Dallas Mavericks on Sunday. With Bryant watching from the sidelines with a hurt shin, it was Bynum leading the way for the Lakers against a hungry Dallas team that is still fighting to lock up a playoff spot in the Western conference. Bynum’s incredible play of late has prompted the debate about where he stands as one of the top centers in the NBA, in particular regarding Dwight Howard.

NFL News: Tebow Booed By Fans At Yankees’ Stadium

For all of the cheers he seems to get wherever he goes, Tim Tebow must have felt a bit uneasy when he was booed by the New York faithful at Yankees’ Stadium on Sunday. In attendance as the pinstripes took on the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim, Tebow was largely booed when he was shown on the big screen at the game. Whether or not this is an ominous sign for this future in the Bronx nobody knows, but you have to feel at this point like Tebow is off to a bit of a rough start in his new city.
