Tennis News: Nadal Wins Seventh French Open Title

Rafael Nadal may no longer be ranked first in the world tennis rankings, but he is still the king of the clay courts. The Spaniard won his seventh French Open title Sunday with a 6-4, 6-3, 2-6, 7-5 victory over world No. 1 Novak Djokovic, denying Djokovic the chance at the complete grand slam for the year, and winning at Roland Garros for the seventh time in eight years. The title is the 11th Grand Slam of Nadal’s career, tying him with Bjorn Borg and Rod Laver on the all-time list, with his overall record at the French Open improving to 52-1.

Betting News: Yankees Complete Sweep Of Mets; Nationals Sweep Red Sox

The New York Yankees got a walk off home run from Russell Martin in the bottom of the ninth on Sunday, and completed the three-game sweep of the New York Mets with a 5-4 win. With wins in eight of their last 10 games, the Yankees have kept pace with the Tampa Bay Rays for top spot in the American League East with just one-half game between them, with a three-game against the Atlanta Braves this week. Meanwhile, things aren’t looking so good for their rival Boston Red Sox, who have dropped to the basement of the AL East after being swept by the Washington Nationals with a 4-3 loss. The Red Sox have much more questions than they do answers at this point, as they get set for a three-game set against the Miami Marlins on the road.

NASCAR News: Logano Earns Second Sprint Cup Win At Pocono

The NASCAR Sprint Cup Series continued at the Pocono raceway on Sunday, and for the first time in three races, it wasn’t a Hendrick Motor Sports’ driver that won. After Jimmie Johnson and Kasey Kahne combined to win the last three SCS races, it was Joe Gibbs Racing that got the job done on Sunday, with Joey Logano earning the second SCS win of his career from the pole at Pocono. Logano had the best car all weekend, finishing with the best time in practice and then earning the pole, and when it came down to the actual race, there was nobody that could stop him.

NBA News: Thunder, Heat Set To Open NBA Finals

After clinching consecutive wins over the Boston Celtics to climb out of a 3-2 series deficit and get back to the NBA finals for the second consecutive season, all eyes will be on the Miami Heat to see if they can deliver on their championship promise in their second season since the big three assembled in South Beach. Lebron James finally broke out with the type of performance that his critics have been waiting for in game six of the Eastern conference final, and after winning game seven will get another chance at his first ring in his third finals appearance overall. Winning that elusive title won’t get any easier this season with Kevin Durant and the Oklahoma City Thunder on an absolute tear in these playoffs, after knocking off the Los Angeles Lakers and San Antonio Spurs in consecutive series.
