While some may be confused as to why there was Olympic soccer action for the women on Wednesday, the actual ceremonies aren’t until Friday and there is a full day of sports on Saturday, so you can put that on the backburner for now. On Thursday, the focus will be on baseball and the first round of the Canadian Open, which is still a solid draw despite being held the week after the British Open.

Nationals Brewers Odds (8:10 PM ET): Washington’s Edwin Jackson has been pretty solid for a pitching staff that has been phenomenal this season, and he’ll go up against Milwaukee’s Yovani Gallardo in a National League meeting.

Canadian Open Odds (tee times start at 7:10 AM ET): Ernie Els scared the promoters of the Canadian Open in Hamilton as he said he was going to skip the event after benefitting from Adam Scott’s collapse in England, but the South African will be teeing it up with another favorite, Matt Kuchar and Vijay Singh at 1:10 PM ET. Defending champion Sean O’Hair will go off in the next group with Hunter Mahan and Canadian hero Mike Weir at 1:20 PM ET, and these two groups will get the majority of the attention when the action begins on Thursday morning.
