Sports Betting – A Look At Saturday’s Betting Slate

Postby Freddy Wills » Mon Jul 30, 2012 7:07 am

sharps looking to lay a wager on Saturday will find their book filled with options from the Summer Olympic Games in London as the schedule really kicks into high gear, but there are also a few baseball matchups to check out as well.

Olympic Betting

Most of the events will kick off on Saturday, highlighted by the first game for the American women’s basketball team, who are favored by 38.5 points over Croatia according to odds. This game takes place at 11:45 AM ET, while Brazil-France and Canada-Russia will also be on the docket. Athletics, canoeing, diving, field hockey, modern pentathlon, sailing, synchronized swimming, taekwondo, water polo and wrestling aren’t in action, but everything else is starting on Saturday, so you should have enough options at sports betting sites (which you can find ).

MLB Betting

Tigers Blue Jays Odds (1:07 PM ET): Anibal Sanchez will make his debut for Detroit against the Blue Jays in Toronto, where Henderson Alvarez gets the ball for the banged-up Jays at the Rogers Center. Sanchez was brought in from Miami and a change of scenery may spark him.

Red Sox Yankees Odds (4:05 PM ET): In a matchup of power lefties, New York’s C.C. Sabathia takes on Boston’s Jon Lester at Yankee Stadium for Saturday’s marquee matchup. Lester has allowed 21 earned runs and five homers in his last 12.1 innings of work, and facing the Bronx Bombers may not be the best thing for him right now.

Dodgers Giants Odds (4:05 PM ET): Another pair of division rivals do battle, this time in the National League West as Los Angeles will be lead into San Francisco by Chad Billingsley while the Giants counter with Barry Zito, and while both pitchers can be tough on the opposition, they can also be hit hard so this is going to be a difficult choice than picking what to play.

Nationals Brewers Odds (7:10 PM ET): Jordan Zimmermann gets the call for Washington as they’re in Milwaukee, where the Brewers will go with Randy Wolf. As of Friday, the Nationals had won six in a row while the Brewers had lost seven straight, so Milwaukee needs to stop the bleeding.

Mets Diamondbacks Odds (8:10 PM ET): New York’s Chris Young goes out on the hill to take on Arizona’s Ian Kennedy, who has gone eight innings strong in each of his last two starts and looks like the pitcher who challenged for the National League Cy Young in 2011.

Rays Angels Odds (9:05 PM ET): Finally, Tampa Bay’s Matt Moore will face Los Angeles’ C.J. Wilson, who hasn’t won in five starts, but the Angels need him to get back on his game if they’re going to make one final push in your book.
