Especially against a Pirates offense that's 20th in scoring and missing its most dangerous bat. Gallen will follow up on last Saturday's scoreless outing with another strong performance. Considering that the Diamondbacks have one of the league's most productive lineups, that should be enough for a comfortable victory. Ortiz has a 4.71 ERA at night. Pittsburgh's bullpen is shaky. Take the Snakes to win by multiple runs for a third straight game.

Both teams come into this one riding losing streaks but the Cardinals will be the ones to snap out and grab the win. The home team has a winning home record, as compared to struggles on the road for the Nationals. It helps the Cardinals dominated the Nationals across a four game set just a few weeks ago and get to lean on an offense that carries slightly more experience into this one. Adding in a more experienced and reliable arm and it makes sense that St. Louis are the ones in the playoff hunt and will be the ones to grab the win in the series opener in this one.
