PAC 12 College Football Betting Recap | Week 6

October 12, 2015 | Posted By Freddy Wills

Washington vs. USC

Wow, I am going to say I was spot on in this game in my analysis and I gave it as a complimentary selection and even noted they had a chance to win this game outright.  Washington was well prepared for the USC offense coming off the bye.  Peterson a very good coach for Washington, and I have never been high on Steve Sarkisan.   Breaking news from USC is that Sarkisan is now fired.  Here is a statement from USC athletic director Pat Haden:

“After careful consideration of what is in the best interest of the university and our student-athletes, I have made the decision to terminate Steve Sarkisian, effective immediately.

“I want to thank Clay Helton for stepping into the interim head coach role, and I want to add how proud I am of our coaching staff and players and the way they are responding to this difficult situation.

“Through all of this we remain concerned for Steve and hope that it will give him the opportunity to focus on his personal well-being.”

Outlook perspective – USC goes on the road to play Notre Dame, and they have jumped from a 2 point under dog to a 6 point under dog.  There will be a lot of distractions this week for USC, but usually teams and players rally behind these type of changes and we have seen it with USC in the past.  They definitely have the talent to go in and upset Notre Dame.  Washington will host a struggling Oregon team that lost again this time against Washington State in OT at home.  Washington opens up as a 1.5 point under dog and moves to a 1.5 point favorite.  Peterson again will have extra preparation for this game.

Cal vs Utah

This was one of the college football picks we gave out on our teaser of the week.  Michigan’s success is clearly making Utah look better and better and the fact that they man handled Oregon while Michigan State struggled makes Michigan look better. Utah however was lucky to win that game.  Cal turned the ball over 6 times which really tells a story that they are better than many have given credit.  You turn the ball over 6 times and only lose by 6 points to a team like Utah?  Very impressed with their ability to stay in this game despite the mental errors.  Goff said it was the worst game he ever played.  I really like this kid he seems mentally strong and I think he will be a very good QB at the next level he just had a bad game.

Outlook perspective:  Utah will have a very challenging game this week against Arizona State.  This is a very dangerous game actually and wouldn’t be surprised if this is the week that they trip up.  California gets a bye before they return to action in 2 weeks against UCLA on Thursday night.
