Northwestern vs. Michigan 3 straight shut outs for this Michigan defense and one huge game coming up. Check out the highlights in my blog. Not too much to talk about here as I was way off about Northwestern after backing them in previous weeks correctly. Outlook perspective – They are 6.5 point favorites against Michigan State. The line absolutely would have been different if you asked in the beginning of the season, but Michigan has looked so great and Michigan State has looked so bad that they almost have to be. The value is on the Spartans and I have to wonder what will happen. Mich St vs Rutgers Michigan State continues to struggle in games and it’s really mind boggling with so many guys returning. Rutgers ended this game with a spike on 4th and 1 so that was also pretty puzzling. If there is one positive to take away form this game it’s that Connor Cook passed for 350+ yards and is clearly the best QB that Michigan’s defense will face this upcoming weekend. Outlook perspective: This line definitely tells you what the oddsmakers think of Michigan and Michigan State. The hype on the Spartans has been dying week after week, and you […]
Read more..Georgia Tech vs. Clemson How many people saw this coming? Tech was only a 7.5 point under dog and were just man handled by Clemson. There was a lot of talk by so called “experts,” referring to this game as a possible “Clemsoning” situation, but it clearly did not happen. Georgia Tech was supposed to be the better more experienced team this year, but I really don’t know what happened they really have not played well. My formulas loved Tech this past week and I just could not pull the trigger after looking at the match up. Georgia Tech was still a very popular play among sharps this past week, but Clemson out gained them by 300 yards and led 40-10 in the third quarter. Outlook perspective: I have to say I am now a believer in Dabo Swinney. They have won 33 straight against un-ranked opponents, and have beaten a lot of good teams along the way in bowl games and non-conference play. The term “Clemsoning” definitely needs to be changed to something else related to the USC Trojans perhaps? Clemson looks like they should stay undefeated heading into their showdown with Florida State on November 7th with BC, Miami, NC State all looking like winnable games. BC […]
Read more..Anytime NC State stepped up in competition last year they lost and they particularly struggled vs. solid defenses. NC State lost last week against Louisville in their own building and now travel on the short week to play against Virginia Tech who lost at home to Pittsburgh. On paper it looks like a nice night for Frank Beamer and the Hokies to get a nice win, but I’m actually going to lean towards NC State in this one as I have definitely talked myself out of backing the Hokies. First of all the Hokies defense is not as good as they were supposed to be ranking 109th in yards per carry, and 102nd overall in yards per play. Not a very good sign going up against NC State which features a very good duo at QB in Jacoby Brisset and Matthew Dayes at RB. Virginia Tech will have it’s hand full with an offense that is dangerous in the red zone scoring TD’s on 21 of their 24 possessions. Granted it those have been against lesser defenses, but Virginia Tech has not shown enough this year to make me believe and the fact that they mustered just 100 yards of […]
Read more..Miami vs. Cincinnati – October 1, 2015 (-6.5, 69.5) This week’s college football betting preview is between Miami and Cincinnati and we will go over some key stats. Need to know more about Cincinnati from a betting perspective? Well if you did not catch our college football picks against the spread last week than these highlights will give you a pretty good idea about what the Bearcats are all about this year. When the ‘Canes have the football: The Miami offense is ranked 15th this season with 6.7 yards per play behind an experienced QB in Brad Kaaya who has thrown for 839 passing yards in 3 games with 5 TD and 1 INT. Kaaya has been pretty consistent against all 3 opponents, none of which posed much of a defensive threat (Bethune, FAU, Nebraska). Now he goes up against Cincinnati’s defense which is ranked 98th in opposing QB rating so I’m expecting Kaaya to have a big game here. 3rd downs – Miami is just 9-38 on third downs which could be an issue as they have not had success of 30% or better in any of their 3 games. As bad as the Bearcats defense has beent hey have […]

Read more..Cincinnati vs. Memphis What a fun game to watch with the exception of the Bearcats 5 star QB taking a scary blow to the head while trying to slide and give himself up. (the player stayed in the game). Hayden Moore took over at QB and broke Cincinnati records throwing for 557 yards and 4TD’s. Memphis got the late win and continues to get the love and support they do deserve, but this defense is terrible. It’s only going to take running into one decent defense for the outcome to change. Outlook: They travel to play at South Florida potential look ahead spot with Ole Miss on deck (at home!). This is a Friday night game for South Florida and they are 9.5 point under dogs. Stanford @ Oregon State We were on this game with Oregon State + the number. Oregon State really started well and it was 21-17 at the half, but the second half Stanford stuck to their game plan, and Oregon State was just over matched. They could not stop the run. I will say that Oregon State’s offense was ahead of where I thought they were as Seth Collins appears to be the real deal. […]

Read more..TCU defeated Texas Tech 82-27 last year at home, and it’s no surprise that you see a lot of people selecting Texas Tech for the upset. I too even had Texas Tech as a lean, and I will not be surprised if it happens, but it’s a betting pass for me. Value – We don’t have it, because this line moved 5 points since opening from 11 down to 6 in favor of Texas Tech. I don’t see value taking the Red Raiders at this number even with TCU missing some guys on defense. Gary Patterson has shown he can play defense against an offense like Texas Tech and TCU’s weaknesses on defense this year have come more from the run defense. Kliff Kingsbury – Be careful jumping on his band wagon. I just do not think he’s a top coach and I don’t think he can come up with the big win at home. That will be two huge upsets in back to back weeks. Even with 17 returning starters this is a team that gave up 45 points to Sam Houston State and there is no surprise that they beat Arkansas who were likely still getting over their loss a […]
